One of our favourite retreat venues is The Lodgehouse at the The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. The Lodgehouse appears nestled in the bracken, surrounded by beautiful forests, with views to the mountains.
The Lodgehouse is perfect for seven writers (physically distanced if necessary) – with a room for writing and a room for our breaks and lunches. Outside there are picnic tables for when the weather is kind.
During the lunchtime break you are invited to walk with us on the Waterfall Trail – an easy and accessible walk “through the trees leading to a dramatic waterfall that appears as if by magic”. For the more energetic, there are a different routes suitable for walking, cycling and running (and the Lodgehouse has a private shower-room).
